în Clinica de pneumologie au fost introduse o serie de tehnici noi de investigare, cum ar fi serviciul de fibrobronhoscopie şi serviciul de toracoscopie. De asemenea s-a organizat un Centru de diagnostic de zi, care a influenţat semnificativ activitatea de îngrijire medicală şi constituie un sprijin real pentru medicii de familie.
în prezent personalul universitar al clinicii participă la implementarea unor studii multicentrice în domeniul bolilor respiratorii. Există 2 studii internaţionale în desfăşurare şi 4 proiecte mari în pregătire.

s-a contribuit la înfiinţarea şi s-a participat la conducerea următoarelor reviste ştiinţifice:

Clinica de Pneumologie Iaşi
este centru pilot în implementarea programului DOTS, programului GOLD privind standardizarea urmăririi şi tratamentului în bolile pulmonare obstructive cronice, proiectului OTTO privind tratamentul infecţiilor respiratorii.
